-Who can play?
Any full-time Towson student.
-When is it played?Regular matrix season games are in the fall and the championships and tournaments are in the spring.
-When is practice?
Practices are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6-8 PM.
-Where do you practice?Practices are held on Newell field, in front of the Newell hall dorm.
-Is rugby a varsity sport at Towson University?No. It is considered a sport club under
Campus Recreation Sports.
-Who does the rugby team play against?We play against other teams in the Mid-Atlantic region, such as Virginia Tech, Harrisburg, UMBC, Catholic, American, and Maryland.
-Why should I play rugby, instead of some other sport?Because rugby isn't just a sport, it's a life-style change. You don't only learn how to play one of the best and most addicting games in the world, but you form friendships and connections that last a lifetime. Rugby is a universal way to connect with anyone, even people you have never met before.
-How is rugby played?Two teams of fifteen players compete on the pitch(the field) for the most points. This will include scrums, rucks, mauls, passes, tackles, drills, kicks, and trys. If you are confused already, don't worry, you aren't the only one. An easy explanation is here in

-Is it true you don't wear pads, like in football?Yes, but in the training to play rugby you will learn how to tackle and be tackled so that the injuries are minimal and the game can be played safely.
-How do I train to play rugby this season?In addition to coming to practices regularly, you can lift weights, go running, or try the
Workout Plan to get in shape.
-Alright, I guess I'll try it. How do I get started? Come to practice! All are welcome and free to try rugby. If it's not your fit, no pressure. We won't hold it against you. But you never know, you could have just stumbled upon the best sport of your life!
